Hi Ascend Community and Friends,

For the month of May, Ascend will be partnering with BNY Mellon to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. We’ll be bringing together a diverse panel of amazing speakers.

Part of this discussion will talk about the intersection of a person’s identities and how this influences a person’s journey. Our panelists will share their experiences that has gotten them to where they are today.

Linda Champion
Assistant General Counsel at Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Dept. of Industrial Accidents and Managing Broker & Board Member, CUE Realty

Linda Champion is an attorney with over 17 years of experience working in Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She has worked in Suffolk County servicing its residents as a former prosecutor, educator, and civil attorney. Linda earned her Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University. As an attorney, Linda began her legal career in 2002 working in the area of civil litigation, real estate, and community development. In 2005 she opened her own private practice and specialized in the area of real estate, development and land litigation helping victims of financial crimes, predatory lending, and with consumer protection matters.

In 2011, Linda was appointed by former District Attorney Dan Conley to serve as an Assistant District Attorney. As a Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney she served in the Juvenile Court, Dorchester and Roxbury District Courts. In 2013 she was promoted to serve as a Superior Court prosecutor and worked in the Elder and Disabled Victims group. In 2013, Linda resigned her position as an Assistant District Attorney to join the Department of Industrial Accidents where she currently serves the Commonwealth as an Assistant General Counsel representing the Commonwealth’s Workers’ Compensation Trust Fund.

In addition to practicing law, Linda is also a Board Member and Managing Broker of CUE Realty LLC, a full service real estate brokerage company wholly owned by Urban Edge. As an educator, Linda worked for over 10 years as an adjunct professor at Suffolk University. Linda continues her community service work as an Advisor to the President of Whittier Street Health Center, volunteer lecturer teaching first-time home buyer classes for Urban Edge, Advisory Board Member for Boston Showstoppers, an all-female AAU athletic program, and is a lecturer for the City of Boston’s condominium course for first-time home buyers

He is one of the first 3 people to be named Priscilla Chan Stride Fellow from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and awarded with the Spark Impact for Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the Mayor of Boston. Tuan is the CEO & Co-founder of ScholarJet and recently recognized as Boston top rising entrepreneur under the age of 25 and Forbes 30 under 30.

Ouliana Bashinova is a Senior Marketing Manager for the U.S. Asset Owner and Consultant Relations segments for BNY Mellon’s Asset Servicing business. In this role, Ouliana is responsible for developing and executing consistent marketing strategy for the business segments that include consultants and clients from corporate and public pensions, endowments, foundations and other tax exempt entities. As the lead marketing partner working with client acquisition and relationship development programs, Ouliana is committed to increasing new and existing revenues from clients and consultants by managing multi-channel demand generation campaigns that grow the sales pipeline. She is an active member of BNY Mellon’s employee resource groups and local community partnership activities. Ouliana joined BNY Mellon in 2003 and has received several awards for her exceptional contributions. She holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Massachusetts Boston and bachelor’s degree from Irkutsk State Linguistics University in Russia.
